2-4 pm Monday-Friday, July 25-29

Join educators from CMT and PSI as we discover how we can incorporate STEAM learning into all types of education. Workshops are from 2-4 pm each day.

Monday: Books, stories and STEM can go hand in hand when it comes to teaching. Learn techniques and ways to incorporate literacy, reading and books when teaching children about STEM in fun and engaging way for everyone.

Tuesday: Participants will learn more about how scientists classify objects in the Solar System and engage in multiple activities to think about characteristics used to classify objects.

Wednesday: Participants will compare the surfaces of planets and the Moon to think about how similar these worlds are and how using what we know about the Earth helps us understand other places in the Solar System.

Thursday: Participants will discuss ways to use engineering as a means of developing their students’ empathy and problem solving skills.

Friday: Participants will explore space via activities incorporating art and science. Activities emphasize hands-on, community learning amongst participants.

*Teachers from Title I schools will also receive a STEM kit and free field trip to the Museum for their class during the upcoming school year.*

This professional development is offered with support from the Institute for Museum and Library Services.
