On average, many of our visitors explore the Museum for about an hour and a half. Your time in the museum will be determined by how hard it is to tear your kids away from the exhibits!
Children’s Museum Tucson is geared to children 10 years and younger. Parents and older siblings can also have great fun (and learn a few things!) by guiding younger visitors through the exhibits.
Any time is a great time to visit the museum! If you are looking for a less crowded experience, please note that group tours are usually scheduled on weekday mornings between 10 am and noon, and more commonly in the spring. Check on our tour schedule here.
There is metered street parking all around and across from the Museum. It costs $1 for two hours at a meter, and they do accept credit and debit cards as well as change. Meter parking is free on weekends. There are several garages within walking distance, or you can also park and ride the modern streetcar, which stops just 2 blocks from the museum.
Visitors may use either a hand stamp or their printed receipt to come back to the Museum on the same day.
Our Museum does not have a restaurant, but there are healthy snacks available in the lobby vending machine. You are welcome to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it our courtyard or the Museum lobby. We ask that food not be taken into the exhibits. There are also many restaurants within walking distance offering a wide variety of food options.
Strollers are welcome in the Museum, but we have no dedicated parking area. You are welcome to leave a stroller in the lobby area, if necessary. Children’s Museum Tucson is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
First Aid: Please note that most staff members are CPR, AED and First Aid Certified.
CMT has lockers available in the lobby. Locker keys can be obtained at the front desk for 50 cents.
The Museum is wheelchair accessible.
